Newspaper publishes major news feature to mark launch of Dr Finlay’s Private Practice new service in Yorkshire
The world-famous and highly respected Yorkshire Post newspaper was the first to carry the news when Dr Finlay’s Private Practice announced that it was to launch a new Yorkshire home-visiting healthcare service in the region.
And the Leeds surgery’s Founder Dr Ben Sinclair was delighted to gather the new Yorkshire team together for group photographs when the media came knocking at our door.
The Post’s Features writer John Blow was keen to share a detailed discussion with Dr Sinclair about his personal health journey through the pandemic, which included details of how he had made detailed changes to his own diet and exercise regime.
And the resulting headline in the paper, “Lifestyle changes ‘could help to ease’ Long Covid” drew immediate interest from readers as the article was published both in print in the broadsheet and also online.
The Yorkshire team at Dr Finlay’s offers expertise and experience across a wide range of medical areas. The other GPs and specialists working with Dr Sinclair are:

– Dr Maria Wrest, who was born and raised in Worsbrough, Barnsley. Since qualifying as a GP, she has worked locally at Darfield and Brierley. She was the regional lead GP for all 9 prisons across Yorkshire. Dr Wrest has a particular interest in women’s health, Menopause, mental health and dermatology.

Asked by the Yorkshire Post whether his own lifestyle changes had helped to ease his own Long Covid symptoms, Dr Sinclair replied:
“I went gluten-free and that dramatically changed my symptoms, my weakness in my leg, my problems with speaking, I really got a lot better. And we need to get plenty of good rest and pace ourselves and not do too much.”
