Private GP Practice

Dr Finlay’s Leeds clinic launch attracts Yorkshire media interest

Our new surgery at 24, The Avenue in Leeds LS17 was featured in one of the city’s most popular magazines

Doctor Finlay’s Private Practice opened its new surgery in Leeds and unveiled a strong local team supporting the local community.

Dr Finlay’s Founder, GP Dr Ben Sinclair, who trained in Yorkshire for 10 years, has pulled together a team of three Yorkshire GPs with a range of specialities alongside every-day general practice needs.

Dr Samantha Rosenberg, well-known in LS17, qualified at the University of Leeds and specialises in substance misuse, and Dr Aaron Brown previously worked as a GP in York, and specialises in urology and health conditions related to the ear, nose, and throat. He feels particular empathy for patients with long-term health conditions due to his own Cystic Fibrosis diagnosis.

Dr Laura Reid GP hails from Leeds too and specialises in women’s health, and the menopause. Also working at the clinic is Registered Nutritional Therapist Natasha Rosenberg, who specialises in the impact that gut health can have on eczema and acne, low energy, weight gain, IBS, insomnia, and Long COVID.

The new Leeds surgery, conveniently located on The Avenue, was featured in J Life magazine, whose June-July issue marked Dr Aaron Brown’s debut as a columnist. He wrote informatively about the dangers of over-exposure to the sun on holiday, the benefits of taking a ‘digital detox’ over the summer, and how to avoid ear infections when holidaymakers fly abroad.

An acknowledged expert in Covid and Long Covid, Dr Sinclair told JLife magazine: “Helping patients with much-needed Covid and Long Covid will also be part of the new service, which launches at a time when UK numbers of Long Covid sufferers are rising, and Yorkshire’s are above the national average.

“Over 2 million people in the UK have Long Covid. In Yorkshire, 194,000 people reported long-lasting effects of Covid-19 infection, according to recent Office for National Statistics figures. This Yorkshire figure represents 3.7% percent of the population, a higher rate than the UK average of 3.1%.

“I predict that the future impact on the regional workforce and local economy in Yorkshire will be considerable during the next year.”

The new clinic offers patients not just traditional GP services, but also half-hour-long, in-person appointments. At these consultations, the Dr Finlay’s team will not only discuss acute issues, but will also take a holistic approach in assessing all aspects of a patient’s health.

The Yorkshire team is also be able to provide the flexibility of home visits and online appointments, alongside blood tests and private referrals and will be working with four dedicated online psychologists.
