Dr Finlay’s Founder GP Ben Sinclair and his team launch new home-visiting healthcare service in the region
Dr Ben Sinclair’s experience of Covid and Long Covid prompted a headline in the media serving Wakefield, a cathedral city in West Yorkshire.
The Wakefield Express, reaching 119,000 people across the city every month, reported on the arrival of Dr Finlay’s Private Practice in the region.
‘Award-winning Wakefield doctor who beat Long Covid launches new home-visiting healthcare service,’ ran the newspaper’s headline online.
Beneath it, the strap line read: ‘An award-winning Wakefield doctor who’s become a Long Covid expert after recovering from it himself is launching a new Yorkshire home-visiting healthcare service.’
The article, which also ran a group photo of Dr Sinclair and the other GPs and specialists working with him, informed its readers that Dr Sinclair trained in Yorkshire for 10 years and supported patients in York District Hospital’s A&E and Special Care Baby Unit.
“Now he heads a Leeds-based team of GPs treating all medical conditions, including Long Covid,” it added.
A Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBChB) and a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), Dr Sinclair is leading three Yorkshire GPs who have expertise in all medical conditions.
They are now supporting patients with home visits, face-to-face and online appointments, with additional support from two local nutritionists and four dedicated online psychologists.
After making a full recovery from Long Covid, Dr Sinclair drew on his own experience of the illness to pioneer the launch of what is thought to be Britain’s first-ever specialist online clinic for Long Covid sufferers.
